Qpex Biopharma is seeking an experienced, resourceful, hands-on individual to join our Pharmacology team in the role of Bioanalytical Research Associate/Research Scientist. The position will conduct bioanalytical methods using chromatographic assays of small molecule therapeutics for discovery through clinical stages of R&D.
This position will be involved in internal and external nonclinical and clinical bioanalytical projects and ensure high quality bioanalytical data/reports are delivered in accordance with project timelines. This position will report to the Principal Scientist, Bioanalytical and will interact with other team members across the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze concentrations of compounds in various biological matrices to support studies of the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) experimental studies of small molecules in preclinical species
• Develop bioanalytical methods using HPLC and mass spectrometry (e.g., LC/MS/MS) methods to support discovery activities related to small molecule therapeutics.
• Perform bioanalytical assays in support of ADME experimental studies of small molecules, such as: protein binding and stability.
• Analyze PK and biological data to identify structure activity- and structure-property- relationships to assist in further structural optimization.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and support system troubleshooting.
• Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as needed and as assigned to support organization priorities
Qualifications
• The Research Associate level requires a BA/BS degree. or equivalent degree in a related science field with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The Research Scientist level requires a minimum of a BA/BS or equivalent degree in a related science field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to run established bioanalytical methods with some experience in method development using accepted industry methods with minimal guidance and supervision.
• Strong, hands-on experience of processes and techniques associated with assay conduct and method development using HPLC and LC-MS/MS.
• Excellent communication skills – will need to interface between many functional areas including Project Teams, Clinical organization, etc.
• Ability to think critically and creatively to identify and solve bioanalytical assay development challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write and review technical reports and present data to project teams.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Ability to safely work in a BSL-2 environment
Preferred:
• Experience with Sciex Triple Quad mass spectrometers and Agilent LC’s
The base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $135,000. Individual pay is determined by several factors, which include but are not limited to: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include the comprehensive benefits, bonus, long-term incentive, applicable allowances, or any additional compensation that may be associated with this role.
